While riding the Living with the Land ride in Epcot at Walt Disney World, I noticed the narrator say “although thunderstorms seem scary and destructive to humans, they are a vital part of new beginnings in our nature systems”
God nudged my heart and said “It’s the same with you life.”
I began to feel the flood of new beginnings I have experienced after what felt like devastating thunderstorms.
The idea of constantly earning Gods love with a project had left me tired. It still does.
Chasing the ideal ‘Christian influencer life’ had left me feeling small.
Pershing a picture perfect home, tidy clean motherhood left me in tears.
Trying to be the ‘perfect wife’ had left my marriage hungry.
This isn’t saying you shouldn’t be open to growth or trying to be better than before, but sometimes we have to embrace the thunderstorm. We have to embrace the fact that life gets messy. Not everything is so cut and dry, clean and tidy. That there isn’t a way to “earn your right” to heaven.
Titus 3:5
“He saved us, not because of the righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing and rebirth of the Holy Spirit.”
What if we took time to worship durring the thunderstorm? If we surrendered it all and said “I don’t know why this is happening but Lord I trust in You.”
God doesn’t want us to be perfect. He wants us to be close to Him. To embrace the childlike wonder he placed within us. To be one with Him.
give yourself grace today momma. Let’s work our way through the thunderstorm to new beginnings, to new life.
All in Jesus name we prayed, amen.
